Fit-Out: from refurbishment to the regeneration of spaces

The English term ‘fit-out’ is derived directly from the business world and originally referred to the process of reorganising a company’s interior spaces in order to give the environment a professional and functional style that best meets the needs of employees. This definition is subsequently used in a broader sense to refer to all activities aimed at the refurbishment and conversion (including demolition and reconstruction, as well as new-build construction) of properties in architectural, structural and/or services-related terms, as part of property development projects carried out with the ultimate aim of generating added value through the sale or letting of the building.
