Lombardy, the region leading Italian innovation

Lombardy is a leader in innovation in Italy thanks to a strong concentration of print media, a world-class research center, significant investments in research and development, and an advanced digital ecosystem that attracts international talent and capital. Perhaps one of the advantages is the economic and financial capitalization of Milan. Maybe it’s the top-tier universities like the Politecnico di Milano and the Bocconi University. Perhaps it is because it is the region that hosts the largest number of innovative startups and business incubators in Italy. Or maybe it’s because its local factories use modern technologies such as automation and robotics (Industry 4.0). Do we want to understand why? Do we want to extrapolate some of these approaches to our region?
