The challenge of creating a new Bauhaus: the New European Bauhaus

The New European Bauhaus is a cultural and environmental initiative launched by the European Commission in 2021 to combine sustainability, affordability, and beauty. It has three main objectives: sustainability, promoting a green transition, a circular economy, and the reduction of emissions in the construction sector; inclusion, creating accessible and liveable neighborhoods for all and improving the quality of daily life; and beauty and style, combining high-quality design with green technologies. It operates through co-creation: it brings together citizens, artists, architects, scientists, and businesses to address urban challenges through targeted funding, support for local projects, startups, and low-emission demonstration spaces. We will analyze the calls for tenders and their latest developments to align with this new movement.
