The ‘Case Green’ Directive and the APE Update

No ban on selling or letting; contrary to the initial drafts, there is no ban on the sale or letting of properties in energy efficiency classes F or G, nor are there any direct penalties for individual owners. National approach: The targets are set at national level and do not impose a mandatory requirement for individual properties to achieve a specific energy efficiency class. APE update: From 2026, new rules and a more precise classification scale for Energy Performance Certificates (APE) will come into force.
